Syncapse: Average Facebook fan is worth $136.38
While many small business owners have flocked to social media as a new way to promote their products and services, some have had trouble determining exactly how much their fans were worth.
A new report conducted by consulting firm Syncapse and research company Hotspex found that the average value of a Facebook friend was $136.38, relays eMarketer. More than half of that accounted for money that fans spent directly on products and services, while $43 was attributed to brand loyalty. Recommendations and earned media value made up the rest of the $136.38.
The study also found that fans spend, on average, double the amount of non-fans on brands. This trend was observed across the top 20 brands, with Nokia fans spending 168 percent more than the general population.
For business owners looking to encourage consumers to become fans of their company, they may want to consider offering promotional products or special offers to followers. Offering discounts to social media fans also encourages them to tell their friends about a brand, reports WebProNews.com.This entry was posted in Social Media. Bookmark the permalink.
