Google releases Product Ads for advertisers globally
Retailers have a new way to show off their products and services on Google. The search giant recently released a new ad type called Google Product Ads that enable] advertisers to show pictures of products with their paid search displays.
Google has been offering the format to select advertisers since last year, but now any business can purchase the displays. Search Engine Land reports the display should be available globally by the end of this week.
Sponsors pay for the advertisements on a cost-per-acquisition basis, meaning Google only charges them when products are purchased. This makes the new format relatively cost-efficient, especially for small business owners on a strict budget.
As the source notes, the Google Product Ads are notable in that they show images along with AdWord displays, which may help catch they eyes of consumers.
With more than 10 billion searches conducted on Google monthly, according to data from comScore, the search engine is a pivotal marketing tool for small business owners looking to drive a wider audience to their ecommerce websites.
